Plus One Program recognizes job creation

January 30, 2014

MARQUETTE- The Lake Superior Community Partnership recognized Marquette County businesses Wednesday that created at least one new job in 2013 as part of its Plus One Program.

LSCP honored 48 businesses that collectively created 241 new jobs last year. The Plus One Program was created by LSCP in conjunction with Michigan Works seven years ago. It was designed around the premise that an employer adding just one new employee contributes to the economic development in Marquette County. Since the creation of the program, Marquette County businesses have created 2,022 jobs.

"We are glad to partner with Michigan Works in order to recognize businesses of all sizes for their contribution to economic development in our county," said Betsy Morais, LSCP director of marketing and communications. "Adding just one new position has a huge impact on our region."
