GWINN - Since Jan. 14, the Gwinn High School boys basketball team has lost 3-of-4 games by a total of eight points.
The latest defeat came Wednesday night when the Modeltowners fell to Ishpeming, 55-51 in overtime, in a Mid-Peninsula Conference contest.
"I hope we face them in the districts," said GHS head coach Darren Sinnaeve after noting his team lost to the Hematites a week ago today, 61-59, on a pair of late 3-point shots by Bobby Zhulkie.
Gwinn also dropped a 49-47 decision to Gladstone during the skid.
"We know we can play well against good teams," Sinnaeve said. "It was another great game (Wednesday), very physical on both sides."
Zhulkie paced Ishpeming with 19 points. He nailed 5 of 6 free throws in the OT.
