Network seeking participants

January 23, 2014
The Mining Journal

MARQUETTE - The U.P. Diabetes Outreach Network is searching for participants to take part in its diabetes program.

The program has a limited number of spots available and is for people with diabetes who want more help and support. UPDON is working with diabetes educators and education programs across the Upper Peninsula to offer this free program to residents. This program is ideal for people who are working and have limited or no health care coverage.

To get involved, the participant must have diabetes, be willing to commit to one-year long program and have a desire to make lifestyle changes to improve their health. There will be a meeting with a local diabetes educator as well as monthly phone calls. The diabetes educator will check back in 6 months after the program ends.

For more information, call 906-228-9203 or email cambensyk@upcap.org. For more information about diabetes, visit diabetesinmichigan.org.
