MARQUETTE - Taking all top five places in the giant slalom, the Marquette Senior High School boys alpine ski team easily won the Kingsford Invitational on Monday at Pine Mountain.
The Redmen of head coach Marty Paulsen finished with 20 points to runner-up Ironwood's 70. Kingsford totaled 112, while Houghton-Hancock had no team score.
Luke Johnson (52.30), Joe Weber (52.46), Dylan Larson (52.75), Bradley Seaborg (53.03) and Nick Weber (53.07) went first through fifth places, respectively, in the giant slalom for MSHS.

In the slalom, Johnson (1:01.42), Nick Weber (1:01.83), Joe Weber (1:02.09) and Seaborg (1:02.15) placed first through fourth, respectively.
In the girls' meet, Houghton-Hancock took top honors with 42 points. Marquette (46), Kingsford (91) and Ironwood (no team score) followed.
Gabby Gencheff of MSHS captured both the slalom (1:02.31) and GS (52.62).
Teammate Hanna Johnson came in fifth in the slalom (1:09.44) and the GS (55.49).
