MONROE, WA. - Peggy Lynn (Rivord) Cullum, 56, of Monroe, Wash., formerly of Marquette, passed away on Jan. 7, after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer. She passed away peacefully at home in the loving care of her family.
She was born to Ray and the late Shirley Rivord, Oct. 26, 1957, in Marquette. Peggy graduated from Marquette High School in 1976, and remained a resident of Marquette until she married Oscar J. Cullum, the love of her life in 1985. Through Oscar's career in the U.S. Air Force, and later in corrections, they lived several places on the west coast before eventually moving to Monroe.
Peggy also worked in corrections before health issues forced her to slow down and make taking care of her family her fulltime job. She also earned a business administration degree from Valley Commercial College in Modesto, Calif., in 1992.
Peggy enjoyed spending time with friends and family and was very proud of her granddaughter and her nephews and nieces. She enjoyed scary movies, shopping, and visiting with friends and family, keeping up with people on Facebook page, and reading a good book.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Oscar, their son Zach and granddaughter Lexi Cullum of Lynnwood, Wa., her father Ray Rivord of Marquette, her sister Debbie (Mike) Walker and nephews Michael and Jacob of Marquette, her brother Ray of Parachute, Colo., her mother-in-law Dorothy Cullum of Snowhomish, Wash., sister-in-law Anita (David) Hollibaugh and niece Taylor and nephew Jerrod of Visalia, Ca., her niece Madi Johnson of Marquette, her close friend Dianne Gallagher of L'Anse, Mich., and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her father-in-law Oscar Cullum, Sr.
