January 21, 2014

MARQUETTE - The Marquette County Board has scheduled a public hearing for today's meeting on a proposed Community Development Block Grant facade improvement application.

The board meeting, which will include the public hearing on the city of Ishpeming facade grant application, is at 6 p.m. in Room 231 of the Henry Skewis Annex to the Marquette County Courthouse in Marquette.

The grant hearing involves a proposed grant application - which the county is facilitating on the city's behalf - to fund exterior improvements to seven downtown Ishpeming buildings. The property owners would have match the $1.02 million in federal funds requested with at least $664,792 in private investment and at least $8,400 from the city of Ishpeming.

The board is also expected to consider the purchase of three sedans and a pickup truck for the Marquette County Sheriff's Office. Bids were solicited for the vehicles.

Additional agenda items include airline use agreements for terminal, gate and landing fees, an Argonics lease for a section of Building 725 at K.I. Sawyer and an amendment to the airport car rental concessionaire agreement.
