City Insurance Sentinels split with Jr. Kings

MARQUETTE - Closing out NIHL play for the season, the Marquette City Insurance Sentinels Pee Wee AA hockey team split with the Calumet Jr. Kings.

The Sentinels lost, 7-3, before coming back with a 5-4 win.

In the loss, Luke Beerman scored twice and added an assist for Marquette. Teammate Cooper Anderson also scored.

Goaltender Tyler Bergwall made 17 stops.

In the nightcap, Sean O'Connor led the way with three goals, while Beerman notched two for City Insurance (26-16-4 overall, 11-7-2 NIHL).

Peyton Anderson, Thomas Dunleavy and Luke Labre picked up helpers.

Bergwall came up with 24 saves.

In a holiday break Paul Bunyan International Hockey Tournament in Bemidji, Minn., the Sentinels lost all five of their games.

They fell to Brainerd, Minn., 10-1; Fargo, N.D., 7-3; Rogers, Minn., 8-3; Crookston. Minn., 5-3; and Bismarck, N.D., 8-2.
