January 17, 2014
The Mining Journal

MARQUETTE - Ted Finco, past president of the Marquette Rotary Club, and Dr. Susan Ritter recently completed a two-week trip to to Matamba, Tanzania, to help identify the needs of St John's Hospital there.

The Rotary Clubs of District 6220, which includes north eastern Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula, have donated medical supplies and equipment to the hospital for more than 10 years. While there, the assessment team also assisted with projects, such as connecting water to the buildings, painting, and assisting with patients at the hospital.

The trip was sponsored by St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ishpeming, which also supports the hospital and school as a mission project.
