To the Journal editor:
The Ishpeming Elks Lodge would like to thank those who participated and volunteered in our second annual Community Christmas Dinner.
More than 360 meals were served on Christmas Day, which is approximately 160 more than last year and the event provided a great opportunity for fellowship at the lodge in addition to the meals that were delivered.
This event was made possible by a grant from the Elks National Foundation, which paid for the cost of the event. We also wanted to thank Trenton Thomas and his wife for their time and talent, the Ishpeming Volunteer Fire Department for hanging the banner, along with volunteers who made this a truly special Christmas for many of our friends and neighbors. We are fortunate to live in a community that embraces giving and togetherness at Christmas.
