On July 8, 1989, Amy married Peter Hendrickson and together the couple established their home and began raising a family which eventually included three sons. Following graduation from NMU, Amy began employment at Marquette General Hospital as a nurse for 13 years and was most recently employed at Northern Michigan University as a nurse with Northern's Health Center.

Amy's boys were the world to her, and she was a very active hockey mom, following their hockey activities throughout the years. Both she and Pete enjoyed travel, going on their yearly cruises, and spending time at camp on Farmer's Lake. Amy enjoyed a good cup of tea, decorating her home, old cars, and attending tractor pulling contests with Pete and the boys. A giving and caring person at heart, Amy had a special compassion for those with cancer and often went out of her way to be of service to them.

Amy is survived by her husband, Peter Hendrickson; sons, James, Justin, and Jacob Hendrickson all of Marquette; her mother and father, Nancy and Neil Carlson of Marquette; a brother, Neil Bradley (Linda) Carlson of Carlshend; her maternal grandmother, Mildred (John) Bird of Marquette; an uncle, Robert (Judith) Krieg of Marquette; and an aunt, Sharon (Sonny) Koepp of Marquette.

Amy was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Robert Krieg; and her paternal grandparents, Elton and Sadie Carlson.

The family will receive relatives and friends at the Lake Superior Christian Church on Monday, January 6, from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Jerry Kizzire will officiate and spring burial will be made in the Northland Chapel Gardens.

The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home is serving the family, where condolences may be expressed online at swansonlundquistfuneralhome.com
