MARQUETTE, MI. - Jeffrey G. Dusseault, age 45, of Marquette and formerly of Munising, died late Tuesday evening, December 31, 2013 the result of a snowmobile accident near Skandia.

He was born on November 29, 1968 in Sault Ste. Marie to Jerry and Pennie (Shunk) Dusseault. The family moved to Munising when Jeff was young and he attended Munising Public Schools. Jeff participated in Mustang sports and graduated from Munising High School in 1987. He then graduated from Northern Michigan University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business Computer Information Systems. During and after college, Jeff worked at Shunk's Furniture stores in Marquette and Munising. He married Trista M. Leach on August 2, 1997. They moved to Marquette and Jeff went to work at Argonics. He worked as the district representative for the Western U.S. and Canada and his job allowed him to travel extensively. Jeff then went to work for Cemex's Mineral Resource Technologies. When the responsibilities transferred from Cemex to the LaFarge Company, he continued his job as operations manager of the fly ash department located at the Presque Isle Power Plant in Marquette. Throughout his career, Jeff always had an entrepreneurial side line job. He ran a small moving company when he worked for Shunk's and he and Trista have been rental property owners and managers since 1998. Jeff was active in the Skandia Lions Club and served as Secretary for the club. He volunteered his time and helped organize the 4th of July parades in Skandia and helped with the U.P. Mud Drag Association races that the Lions sponsored. He was a wonderful and caring husband and father who gave the best hugs. Jeff enjoyed family gatherings at AuTrain and at camp. He snowmobiled, hunted, four wheeled, wrote poetry, and was looking forward to a new passion of ice fishing. Jeff lived life to the fullest extent, but his greatest moments were the quiet quality hours he spent with his wife and kids. (He was even beginning to enjoy Dee Dee, the family dog.) Jeff will be achingly missed by those who loved and knew him.

He is survived by his wife of over 16 years Trista Dusseault of Marquette; their 14-year old son Josh Dusseault; their 11-year old daughter Taylor Dusseault; his mother Pennie Shunk-Dusseault of Munising; his father Jerry Dusseault of AuTrain; brothers Jamie Dusseault of Manistique and Jason (Laura) Dusseault of Munising; grandfather Spencer Shunk of Sault Ste. Marie; parents-in-law Maureen and Jerry Leach of Manistique; brother-in-law Jason Leach of Negaunee; sister-in-law Melanie (David) Humphrey of Skandia; nieces and nephews Joey, Cameron, Caylee, Jack, Alex, Ashely, Manda, and Raina; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
