MARQUETTE, MI. - Mary Lou Bourdage Crothers, 81, of Marquette, passed away Monday afternoon, December 23, 2013 at Brookridge Heights Assisted Living in Marquette.
Mary Lou was born on August 20, 1932 in Marquette to the late James Joseph and Adeline (Evers) Hudson and was a 1950 graduate of John D. Pierce High School.
Mary Lou worked as a secretary at Vandenboom Elementary School until retiring in 1994. She was a charter member of the Tilden Valley English Springer Spaniel Club. She raised three field champions and garnered numerous other awards with her dogs. Mary Lou was also known to be a proficient flower gardener.
She is survived by two children, James Leo Bourdage of Mesa, AZ and Holly (Richard) Wilder of Marquette; one sister, Gloria Matson of Marquette; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Tina Bourdage of Marquette; also one niece, Cindy.
Preceding her in death besides her parents was her first husband, Roland Bourdage, second husband, Walter "Tiny" Crothers; a daughter, Judith Ann Bourdage Vasseau James in July, 2006 and a son, Peter Bourdage in May of 2013.
Visitation will be held in the Canale-Tonella Funeral Home on Friday beginning at 2 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 3 p.m. in the funeral home. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the funeral home.
