ISHPEMING - Two people were taken to Bell Hospital Wednesday for the treatment of minor injuries sustained in an accident on Deer Lake Road in Ishpeming Township.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office said at about 2 p.m. Wednesday, Kori Faull, 18, of Ishpeming was traveling north on Deer Lake Road in a 2003 Subaru when she lost control and crossed into oncoming traffic, where her vehicle crashed into a 2010 GMC Terrain headed south driven by 79-year-old Kenneth Lafayette of Marquette.

Lafayette's wife, Ettajo Lafayette, 78, was sitting in the passenger seat and suffered neck and chest injuries, police said. She was wearing a seatbelt. She was transported to Bell Hospital by Bell EMS.

Police said Faull suffered a head injury and was transported to Bell Hospital by Bell EMS.

Faull was cited for traveling too fast for conditions.

Both Faull and Lafayette were treated and released.

The Marquette County Sheriff's Office was assisted at the scene by Bell Hospital EMS and the Ishpeming Township Fire Department.
