GWINN, MI. - Donald Wayne Swenor, 70, of Gwinn, died peacefully on Monday afternoon, December 9, 2013, at his home, with his family by his side and under the care of Lake Superior Hospice.
He was born February, 28, 1943 to Alice M. (Vadnais) and Adolph Swenor in Marquette. He attended the Marquette Public Schools.
He worked for Harvey Oil for a number of years and enjoyed being at camp and playing cards, along with going to the casino.
Donald is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Ogea); his sons; Dan, Bruce, (Angie), Richard, Michael, Paul; grandsons; Daniel, Nicolas, and Kenny; granddaughter; Autumn Peterson; great granddaughter; Karlie Hillier; sisters; Shirley Koepp, Elizabeth (Arthur) Belanger, Joyce (James) Constance, Mary (Oscar), Haglund, Lois, (Marvin) Gibson; brother, Robert (Margaret); Sister in law, Betty Swenor, and other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by; his parents; Alice (Vadnais), and Aldoph Swenor; brothers; J. Louis (Mary Ann Kangas), William R. G. James, (Betty Lou Richardson); sisters; Florence (Adolph) Gazella, Rose Mary (R. Michael) Walin, Nancy Swenor; nephews; Michael and Thomas Swenor & Michael Haglund; niece; Susan (Walin) Molise; great niece, Susan (Swanson) Smith; mother and father in law, Walter and Edna Ogea; brothers in law; Howard Koepp, Walter and Clifford Ogea.
A Celebration of Don's life will be held on 5 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2013 at the Crossbridge Church, 119 N Third Street in Ishpeming Michigan. The Canale-Gwinn Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memories may be shared at canalefu neralhome.com
