County to discuss space needs

December 17, 2013
The Mining Journal

MARQUETTE - The Marquette County Board is scheduled to discuss recommendations from a space needs ad hoc committee and make appointments to several boards and commissions when the panel meets tonight in Marquette.

The meeting will be at 6 p.m. in Room 231 of the Henry Skewis Annex to the Marquette County Courthouse, located at 234 West Baraga Avenue.

After a space needs study was produced in October 2012 by Somerville of Green Bay, Wis., the county enpaneled an ad hoc committee to come up with recommendations to the county board, based on the study's findings.

The facilities likely to be discussed most include the Mangum Farms detention center, the Ishpeming branch of District Court and service center and the county youth home.

The board will also make appointments to numerous vacancies on boards and commissions.
