NEGAUNEE - Showing some strength on offense, the Negaunee High School hockey team beat Kingsford on Monday, 6-2, at the Negaunee Ice Arena.
Ryan Bischof and Trevor Borlace scored two goals apiece as the Miners of head coach Darrel Sleeman improved to 2-5.
"We were more aggressive on the forecheck and created more scoring opportunities," Sleeman said. "We put a lot of pressure on (Kingsford)."
Jacob Paquet and Jackson Vilona also notched markers for Negaunee, which led 3-2 after two periods.
"This was our best offensive game of the season and we had very good goaltending, too" Sleeman said.
Anthony Moyle made 31 saves for the Miners.
