NMU skiing: Wildcats' Frankowski wins women's freestyle at Michigan Tech

HOUGHTON - Northern Michigan University senior Rosie Frankowski won the women's 10-kilometer freestyle race Saturday in Nordic skiing held at the Michigan Tech Challenge in Houghton.

She covered the MTU Trails course in 32 minutes.

"Rosie is looking really solid and is looking like an All-American right now," NMU head coach Sten Fjeldheim said through a press release

"It's exciting to have her competing the way she is."

In second was Wildcat senior Jordyn Ross with a time of 33:21.00. Sophomore Mary Kate Cirelli (34:40.00) and junior Felicia Geisor (34:43.00) placed fourth and fifth, respectively.

On the men's side, NMU junior Kyle Bratrud finished second in the 15-kilometer race, posting a time of 41:38.

Senior George Cartwright (41:59.00) and freshman Fredrik Schwencke (42:36.00) placed third and fourth, respectively.

The Wildcats will wrap up competition at Tech with the classic race at 11 a.m. today.
