Second City to perform Dec. 21

ISHPEMING - The Second City Comedy Troupe will be perfoming at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. Dec. 21 at the Country Village Banquet and Conference Center, Ishpeming.

The Second City is Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue delivers a healthy dose of seasonal satire with holiday film classics, family gatherings, improvised Christmas Carols, even Joseph and Mary nothing is too sacred for a show that is the perfect alternative to the same old holiday shows.

SantaLand Diaries holiday party

MARQUETTE - The SantaLand Diaries holiday party will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 21 in the Atrium on the Second Floor of Hedgecock at Northern Michigan University, Marquette.

There will be hot hors d'ouvres, a selection of wine, holiday punch and hot drinks.

Tickets are $10, and tickets for the performance are $5. For more information, call 906-227-2082.

Community meal canceled

MARQUETTE - With regret, St. Paul's Episcopal Church announces that it has canceled its monthly community meals for Dec. 25.

These meals are normally hosted the last Wednesday of every month; too many of the hosting crews are unavailable. The meals will resume in January. For more information, call 226-2912.

Free community dinner Dec. 29

ISHPEMING - A free community dinner will be at 5 p.m. Dec. 29 at the Hope Free Lutheran Church, Ishpeming. The meal will be chili with cornbread. For more information, call 485-5714.

Snowmobile safety course

ISHPEMING - There will be a snowmobile safety class 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 30 at Westwood High School, Ishpeming.
