MARQUETTE - Organizers are hoping to "PAAC" the "halls" of the Ore Dock Brewing Company Tuesday night.
That's when a benefit for the Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council will take place at the popular Marquette venue.
"We came up with the idea because we like beer and we like supporting PAAC," said Ellen Lindblom, who is the organizer of PAAC The Halls, which begins at 6 p.m. Tuesday. "The Ore Dock has such a great atmosphere and is really accommodating and great to work with."

PAAC had had a banner year, with many of its events drawing large audiences. And while the organization's headquarters are in Negaunee at the Vista Theater, it works to serve residents from throughout the region.
"We decided to try out a new fundraising idea and hope to draw a different crowd than some of our other fundraisers seemed to attract," Lindblom said. "We are centering this event on a membership drive and silent auction. The fundraiser is open to all ages and there will be a $5 cover charge to enter. Children 5 and under are free. Cookies, hot chocolate or hot cider will be included in the cover charge."
Music at Tuesday's event will be provided by the Negaunee High School Chorale, a duo by Matt Johnson and Alex Polkinghorne, and The Ach!evers.

"This funds from this event are going to be used to expand our ability to offer a wide range of art programs and services for our community," Lindblom said. "We are a non-profit organization and our programming is only made possible by the donations, grants, and funds we raise throughout the year."
During 2013, PAAC has offered a wide range of productions and events for audiences.
"Some highlights of the past year have been our four amazing musical productions; 'Spamalot,' 'West Side Story,' 'Rocky Horror' and 'Scrooge'," Lindblom said.
"In addition to those large productions, we also had the opportunity to invite some traveling groups to utilize our theater," she said. "The Lansing Unionized Vaudeville Spectacle, Aallotar - a Finnish-American music group - and a literary powerhouse event - poetry readings and signings by the top five finalists for the first Upper Peninsula Poet Laureate Award."
PAAC is hoping to continue to be on a roll in 2014.
"Next year we will be premiering out new projection system during Pioneer Week (in July)," Lindblom said. "We also have a few possibilities for musicals (next year) like 'Rent', 'Cinderella,' 'Scrooge' and "Rocky Horror.' We are also hoping to host more of the dinner theater shows that were so successful in 2013 and to play old, art, and independent movies all year long starting this summer thanks to the grant we received from Cliffs Natural Resources and Eagle Mine for the projection system, which was another huge highlight from 2013.
PAAC continues to take suggestions from the community as to what types of art they would like to see it support and offer.
"PAAC provides an opportunity not only for all ages to view arts entertainment but also participate in many different ways," said Alfred Keefer, executive director of the PAAC.
Lindblom also mentioned another PAAC venture that draws interested parties year-round, but especially bargain shoppers during the holiday season.
"PAAC would like to mention that the thrift store is still open," she said. "This large store provides a wide range of items. And we, of course, are always taking donations both items for the store and monetary ones for the organization."
