MARQUETTE - Setting two school records and one pool mark, the Northern Michigan University women's swimming/diving team experienced a banner day Friday at the Calvin College Invite in downstate Grand Rapids.
"It was a great night across the board for all of our girls," Wildcats head coach Heidi Voigt said.
Junior Madisen Sechena led NMU, placing first in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:33.98, claiming a pool record at Calvin College.
Sechena broke the NMU mark by placing second in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.59).
Junior Debbi Lawrence broke the school record in the 50 freestyle, winning the event in 28.83.
NMU junior Jordan Iverson added a second place finish in the 400 individual medley with a season-best time of 4:34.89, while junior Dakota Sechena recorded a personal best time in the same event (4:43.86).
Junior Molly Kearney led the Wildcat divers, finishing second in the three-meter dive (no point total available).
The third and final day of competition begins at 10 a.m. today with preliminary races. The finals begin at 6 p.m.
