Lisa Johnson welcomed

Messiah Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Marquette and Lutheran Campus Ministry at Northern Michigan University (ELCA) have welcomed Lisa Johnson. She moved to Marquette at the end of October and was hired as the new Youth Director at Messiah and Lutheran Campus Ministry Leader at NMU.

Johnson comes to Marquette from Ashland, Neb., where she served as the Associate Director of Program Operations at Nebraska Lutheran Outdoor Ministries, a summer camp, conference and retreat center for the Nebraska synod of the ELCA. She graduated from Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Neb., with a bachelor's in Youth and Family Ministry/Human Services and minors in Religion and Philosophy. Johnson has spent time in Tanzania co-facilitating and participating in Peer Ministry. She also studied abroad and lived in Cuernavaca, Mexico and spent time in El Salvador as part of a program through Augsburg College focusing on Women, Gender and Social Change, and Liberation Theology.
