MARQUETTE, MI. - Thomas E. Normand, 81, of Marquette, died peacefully Monday evening, November 18, 2013 at his home in the presence of his loving family and under the care of U.P. Home Health and Hospice.
Tom was born on August 18, 1932 in Marquette to the late Henry and Edna (Dobbs) Normand, Sr. He resided in California for 45 years prior to returning to Marquette in 1995.
Tom served four years in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Civil Service with the U.S. Navy.
He was an original founder of the Dog Park in Marquette. Tom enjoyed caring for his canine companions and was a great artist.
Survivors include his sister, Betty Normand and brother, Hank Normand, both of Marquette; also two nieces, Lori (Aaron) Sather of Gwinn and Teresa (Lorenz) Butterfield of Little Lake; one nephew, Timothy (Kim Kasprzyk) Normand of Gwinn as well as several great nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death besides his parents was a sister, Mary Ayotte and a brother, Richard Normand.
