Merle J. ‘Ginger’ Dobbs

MARQUETTE, MI. - Merle J. "Ginger" Dobbs, age 75 of Kenosha, passed away peacefully at her residence, with her family by her side on Tuesday, November 19, 2013.

Born in Marquette, MI on May 27, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Edna (Olmstead) Quinnell.

In Marquette, MI, she was united in marriage to John Dobbs. They moved from Marquette to Kenosha in 1959. They were blessed with almost 60 years of marriage.

She was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and the former St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church.

Ginger liked to gamble; especially bingo, slots and lottery tickets. She enjoyed going to the local church festivals. Above all, she loved her family. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, John; her son, Rick (Leona) Dobbs; her former daughter-in-law, Cindy Dobbs; her five grandchildren, Melissa (Chris) Pscheidt, Shawn (Jennie) Dobbs, Christopher Runge, Stephanie Runge and Marisa (Christian) Solais; her five great grandchildren, John Dobbs, Jacob Dobbs, Zoe Pscheidt, Brooke Beecher, and Christian Solais, Jr., her six siblings, Faye Belmore, June (Al) Lane, Darlene (Don) Swajanen, Nancy Newport, Betty, and Raymond "Butch" Quinnell; and her many loving nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings, Loretta, Vivian, Ruth, Donna, Patrick, John, Calvin, and Don.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

A visitation for Ginger will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
