MARQUETTE, MI. - Cheryl Lynn "Cheri" Croschere, age 63, of Marquette, entered eternal life Tuesday evening, November 19, 2013, in the Hospice Suite located at Marquette General Hospital, in the loving, comforting care of her family and the caregivers of UP Home Health and Hospice.
Cheryl was born May 4, 1950 in Marquette, a daughter of Glenn and Donna (O'Leary) Johnson and was a lifelong Marquette resident. During her early years, she was employed at the Windmill Lanes in Marquette and perfected her technique and became an avid bowler. Currently she has been employed for 17 years as Coordinator of Administrative Services for UP Home Health and Hospice and Private Duty. She possessed the skill of attention to detail and was wonderful at working out the details on policies and rules for the agency.
She loved doing research on the computer and was able to sort through details. Additionally, she was a passionate volunteer for UP Home Health and Hospice.
In her leisure, Cheryl loved going to rummage sales and the challenge of a good buy. She and her companion also enjoyed going for rides around the UP wilderness on Sundays. However, nothing was better than spending time with the grandchildren.
Survivors include her mother, Donna (John) Swanson of Marquette; two children, Troy Croschere and Cory (Annie) Croschere both of Marquette; her life partner of 38 years, Clarence "Beaver" Duquette of Marquette; her granddaughter, Cassie Croschere of Ishpeming; special grandson, Zach; a step-sister, Cindy (Bruce) Nyquist of Marquette; four step-brothers, Charles (Janey) Swanson of Phoenix, AZ, Brian (Angela) Swanson of Owosso, MI, and Stephen (Kayleen) Swanson of Cotton Dale, FL. and Greg (Jodi) Johnson of Negaunee.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her father, Glenn Johnson; a sister, Cynthia Borcherding; step-sister, Colleen Ryan; and step-brother, Thomas Swanson.
Honoring Cheri's request, no public services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to UP Home Health and Hospice.
The Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home is serving the family, where condolences may be expressed online at swansonlundquistfuneralhome.com.
