NEGAUNEE, MI. - Myron C. "Snuffy" Johnson, 75, of 214 W. Clark St., Negaunee, died at 2:25 am on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Marquette General Hospital where he had been a patient.
Myron was born September 18, 1938 in Negaunee to Clarence E. and Elizabeth I. "Bessie" (Steede) Johnson, attended Negaunee High School and was a lifelong area resident. He worked as a mechanic at Montgomery Wards in Marquette for many years and most recently for American Airlines at K.I. Sawyer until his retirement in 2003.
Mr. Johnson was a member of the Negaunee Eagles and a former member of the Negaunee Elks Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He was a Green Bay Packer and Michigan State Spartan fan. Another hobby was gardening vegetables.
Surviving are 2 sons: Myron (Shannon) Johnson, Jr. of Flint, Francis A. Johnson of Ishpeming, a grandson William Dorow, III, 2 sisters: Veronica (Ron) Dagenais of Marquette, Pauline (Dennis) Healy of Dearborn, a special companion, Marian Ray of Negaunee, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers: Clarence "Chatter" and Gary Johnson and a sister, Narissa Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday at the Koskey Funeral Home with Monsignor Peter Oberto, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church officiating.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 11:00 am until the time of services at noon at the funeral home on Thursday.
