Isn’t it ironic?

November 18, 2013
David Richarde , The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

For those who might enjoy a bit of irony concerning mining (even the word irony is bit ironic) we should propose a new ad campaign and embrace the obvious future.

That campaign might look like this-"Forward Marquette"-Welcome to the new International Mining District of the UP"

Let's all wave at those big ore trucks-Visit our wilderness nines today!

This way we can all share our enthusiasm for the benefits of mining (oh, especially long term, think of Deer Lake!) with our tourist visitors. After all, who would not want to tour a huge industrial mining district on the Yellow Dog Plains as part of their dream vacation?

Who would not want to be excited about multinational companies taking away public property for private gain?

Yes, endorse the new campaign today, let's get the excitement started.
