City Insurance rebounds from early loss

MARQUETTE - After losing its first game, the Marquette City Insurance Pee Wee AA hockey team won its next three to go 3-1 Nov. 8-10.

City Insurance first dropped a 3-2 decision to Sault Ste. Marie. Sean O'Connor and Luke Beerman notched goals.

Earning assists were Peyton Anderson and Gaetano Cammarata, while Preston Maki made 10 saves in net.

The next morning, Marquette beat the Soo, 6-3, behind two goals and four assists by Beerman. Cammarata added three markers and an assist, while Anderson posted a goal and assist.

Also collecting helpers were Luke Labre (2), Brent Kroll and Jon Jason.

Goaltender Tyler Bergwall came up with nine stops.

The Sentinels then beat Mackinaw City, 4-3. O'Connor led the way with two goals, while Cammarata recorded a goal and assist. Anderson had a single goal.

Chipping in lone assists were Jakob Peterson, Lucas Guertin and Thomas Dunleavy; Bergwall made 20 saves.

City Insurance (14-3-1 overall, 7-2-1 NIHL) continued its winnings ways with a 9-2 triumph over Mackinaw City. O'Connor paced the win with three goals and two assists.

Peyton Anderson and Cooper Anderson each contributed two goals and an assist, while Cammarata posted a goal and a helper.

Also picking up assists were Karsten Kamps (2), Kroll and Peterson.

Maki turned away 26 shots on net.
