HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA. - Spehar, Francis Ludwig (Shanky) passed away in Huntington Beach, CA on Friday, November 8, 2013.
Frank, as he was also known, was born to Frank and Louise Spehar in Big Bay, MI on September 14, 1931. In 1949, after graduating from Bishop Baraga High School in Marquette, MI , he entered the US Air Force.
In 1953, Frank and his wife, the former Jeanette Warner, moved to California. After 35 years he retired from the Southern California Gas Company.
Frank was a loving husband, father, and friend who always found time for his family and those in need. He enjoyed outdoor activities, tinkering in his garage, and chasing down great deals at yard sales
In California he is survived by sons: Frank (Jennifer) and their daughters Jamie, Shelby and Holly; and Scott (Cathy) and their daughter Kristi. In Marquette, MI he is survived by sisters: Kathryn (Clarence) L'Huillier, and Barbara (Robert) Mohar; and aunt Dorothy Eastley and their families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and loving wife Jeanette.
On Saturday, November 16, 2013 a service will be held at St. Wilfrid's Church in Huntington Beach, CA with a celebration of Frank's life to follow.
