MARQUETTE - A 73-year-old Marquette man was arrested Wednesday for impaired driving after a three-vehicle traffic accident at the intersection of U.S 41 and Marquette Drive which sent three people to the hospital with minor injuries.
The incident was reported to police at 6:35 p.m. Wednesday.
Marquette City Police said the man was driving a car west along Marquette Drive. Police said he failed to yield at the intersection with the highway and pulled out into oncoming traffic. A northbound vehicle driven by James Nardi, 62, of Ishpeming collided with the man's vehicle.
Police said Nardi's vehicle was then struck by another northbound vehicle, which was driven by Eileen Noblet, 52, of Marquette.
All three drivers sought treatment at Marquette General Hospital for their minor injuries, police said.
Police said the man was arrested for operating a vehicle while impaired and lodged in the Marquette County Jail. Court officials said the man had posted bond and was released, pending an upcoming court appearance, which had not yet been scheduled.
