ISHPEMING - Hickey's Bar in Ishpeming has been reported a total loss after a fire razed the building late Wednesday night and early this morning.
The Ishpeming Fire Department was dispatched to a reported fire in the wall of Hickey's Bar shortly after 11 Wednesday night. Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire had spread to all levels of the structure.
There were three or four apartments above the bar, according to Fire Chief Ed Anderson, and these apartments as well as occupants of the bar and neighboring buildings were evacuated.

The fire was contained to the Hickey's building, though firefighting efforts were hampered by the close proximity of high voltage power lines. The building was a total loss.
The cause of the fire on Pearl Street is under investigation.
Assisting at the scene was the Negaunee Fire Department, the Ishpeming Township Fire Department, the Negaunee Township Fire Department, Marquette County Rescue Unit 131, Ishpeming Police Department, Ishpeming Department of Public Works and Bell Hospital EMS.
