November 13, 2013
The Mining Journal

MARQUETTE - The Forest Roberts Theatre Presents Les Miserables today through Saturday at the Forest Roberts Theatre, Marquette.

It stars Broadway actor, associate professor and NMU alumnus Paul Truckey as Jean Valjean. Truckey has performed in the Broadway and touring companies of Les Miserables. In 19th century France, Jean Valjean is released from 19 years of unjust imprisonment, but finds nothing in store for him but mistrust and mistreatment.

He breaks his parole in hopes of starting a new life, but is pursued by police inspector Javert, who refuses to believe Valjean can change his ways. In the end, however, Javert must confront his ideals about Valjean in the gripping conclusion of this international hit.
