BESSEMER (AP) - A cold weather system has pushed across Michigan, dropping temperatures into the teens in places and sending snow across wide areas of the state.
The National Weather Service issued a lake effect snow alert for the Lake Superior shoreline sections of the eastern Upper Peninsula into this morning.
Slippery roads were causing crashes on many roads in the state.
Light snow was falling Monday night from Adrian in the south to Manistique in the north. Temperatures at 8 p.m. EST ranged from 14 at Sault Ste. Marie to 33 at Ypsilanti.
The weather service says 3 inches of snow fell Monday in Osceola County in the northwestern Lower Peninsula.
