Everett (Ole) Matheson

SALT LAKE CITY, UT. - Everett (Ole) Matheson, age 97, formerly of Ishpeming, went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, November 5, 2013.

He was born October 3, 1916 to Arthur and Elizabeth Matheson in Ishpeming. He married Ruby Skewis on November 8, 1947. He was a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps and a veteran of World War II.

A sometime farmer, miner and truck driver, Ole moved the family to Utah to work for Hercules Corp. in 1960. He loved to hunt and fish and spend time with family in the mountains around Salt Lake. He loved dogs and always had one by his side.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Mike (Geri) Niemi of Ishpeming, Steve (Cindy) Niemi, Heather (Mike) Westenskow and Jay Matheson, all from Salt Lake City, Utah. 12 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, his second wife Florence, sons; William Niemi and Robert Matheson, his parents Arthur and Elizabeth, sisters; Helen LeSage, Evelyn Donato, Irene Burgraff, Mildred Jolsen, Delores Besander and brothers; Glyn and Gordon Matheson.

A private family graveside service will be held Friday, Nov. 15, 2013 at Valley View Memorial Park, Salt Lake City, Utah.
