MARQUETTE TOWNSHIP, MI. - Jeanette R. Collick, age 63, of Marquette Township, entered eternal life Friday morning, November 8, 2013, at Marquette General Hospital.

Born August 31, 1950 in Marquette, a daughter of Harold and Clara Melissa (Bourgeois) Quinnell, Jeanette was raised in Marquette and was a graduate of the Marquette Senior High School, Class of 1968. Following graduation, she began what would become a long working career as a secretary-receptionist, first with Bark River Culvert Company and later with Specker Motor Sales. On June 19, 1976, she married William B. Collick at Wesley United Methodist Church in Ishpeming, and together the couple made their first home in Ishpeming and later in Ishpeming Township. In 1981, Bill and Jeanette moved to the Beaver Grove area, and currently had resided in Marquette for almost a year. Throughout the years, Jeanette balanced the responsibilities of a wife, mom, and homemaker with those of her career. For almost 20 years she was employed with Chocolay Township as a receptionist, then in the arts and crafts department at WalMart, later as a receptionist with Dr. Alan Olson in Harvey, and finally with Dr. Milton Soderberg for 8 years prior to retiring in 2009. She was a loving, selfless, and generous person, placing the needs of others before her own. Although humble in nature, she also possessed a bold spirit, never afraid to speak her mind and give an opinion. In her leisure, she enjoyed the outdoors and all that nature had to offer, especially when it came to camping. Her family was everything to her, especially the grandchildren. Her other interests included knitting, crocheting, quilting, coffee clutching with her friends and siblings, and watching soap operas, both daytime and evening dramas, on the Soap Opera Channel. Through taking evening courses, Jeanette was also able to do transcription work on the side.

A loving wife, mom, grandma, and sister, Jeanette is survived by her husband of 37 years, Bill; her sons, Steve (Danielle) Collick of Petoskey, Joey (Natasha Nelson) Collick of Harvey, and Dan (Kristen) Collick of Beaver Grove; her grandchildren, Emma, Ellie, Jase, and Jaydon; three sisters, Diane (Eugene) LaBeau of Ishpeming, Sharon Flynn of Marquette, and Sandi (Dave) Lusardi of Ishpeming; three brothers, Kenneth (Janice) Quinnell of Ishpeming, Gordon Quinnell of Marquette; and Roy (Dorthy) Quinnell of Ishpeming; and many nieces and nephews who will miss "Auntie Nette."
