MARQUETTE - The Marquette County Board voted unanimously Tuesday to appoint James Alderson of Gwinn to fill an unexpired term on the Marquette County Board of Health.
Alderson served previously on the panel. The term expires Dec. 31, 2014.
The county board of health governs the operations of the Marquette County Health Department through its director, and also acts as the board of appeals for all water, sewer, or health permit appeals received by the health department.
The panel is a seven-member body, six of whom are appointed to 3-year terms. One member must be a doctor of medicine or a doctor of osteopathy and one member must be a county commissioner, serving a 1-year term on the panel.
