Lake to improve

November 3, 2013
Maureen LaWent, Ishpeming , The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

The Lake Bancroft Project, a nonprofit, volunteer-run endeavor dedicated to restoring Lake Bancroft to aquatic health, would like to gratefully acknowledge the financial contributions of Cliffs Foundation and Ishpeming Noon Kiwanis, which were used to purchase needed equipment for Lake Bancroft's future remediation, and Lindberg & Sons' donation of a pump platform and hose.

We are now finalizing operational details so that we are ready to begin our work, clearing and reoxygenating Lake Bancroft's waters, in the spring and summer months of 2014. Expect to see the project in operation then, working to improve Ishpeming's quality of life.

We thank the community for believing in us and for their continued, crucial support.
