City Insurance Sentinels Pee Wees go 4-0

MARQUETTE - The Marquette City Insurance Sentinels Pee Wee AA hockey team went 4-0 against Mackinaw City and Sault Ste. Marie the weekend of Oct. 19-20.

Sunday, the Sentinels defeated the Soo, 5-1 and 8-1, to raise their season record to 7-1-1.

In the opener, Luke Beerman and Peyton Anderson each recorded a goal and an assist for Marquette, while Lucas Guertin, Karsten Kamps and Jon Jason added single tallies.

Gaetano Cammarata and Sean O'Connor each picked up a pair of assists. Peterson, Russ Modell and Cooper Anderson added single helpers.

Goaltender Tyler Bergwall made 14 saves.

Sunday afternoon, Beerman recorded a goal and three assists, while Cammarata chipped in three goals in an 8-1 victory over the Canadian, Sault.

Anderson chipped in a goal and an assist, while Guertin, Kamps and Anderson posted single tallies.

Also claiming assists were Jason (2), O'Connor, Chris Silva and Thomas Dunleavy.

Preston Maki came up with 11 saves in goal for the Sentinels.

On Saturday, Marquette swept Mackinaw City, 8-2 and 7-6.

In the first game, Beerman notched a goal and four assists, while Cammarata scored three goals and assisted on another.

Jason finished with a pair of markers and an assist, and Peterson a goal and a helper. Posting a single goal was O'Connor.

Collecting a single assist were Guertin, Kamps, Brett Kroll and Anderson.

Bergwall came up with 18 stops in net.

Saturday afternoon, City Insurance held a 4-1 lead over Mackinaw City, which then scored five unanswered goals in the second period due to several Sentinels in the penalty box.

A pair of goals by Peterson in the third period set up Cammarata's game-winning marker with 1:06 left.

Beerman and O'Connor added two goals each.

Collecting assists were Beerman, Modell (2), Jason (2), Guertin, Kamps and Anderson.

Maki (20) and Bergwall (six) combined to make 26 stops in the game.
