ISHPEMING, MI. - Sandra Mae White, 68, of the Hillcrest Home in Ishpeming and former Negaunee Township resident died at 10:45 PM on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at her home where she had resided for the past 6 years.
Sandy was born February 27, 1945 in Negaunee to Walter R. and Priscilla M. (LaForest) White and lived most of her life in this area. She was baptized at St. Paul Catholic Church, Negaunee and had worked at the Marquette Work Center in Negaunee Township. She enjoyed playing cards and games, loved her dolls, stuffed animals, and her phone. She liked to tease people and also enjoyed being teased. She was a strong willed woman and a fighter who dealt will health problems throughout her life.
Surviving are her sister, Cheryl (Skip) Henderson of Big Bay, nieces and nephews: Jamie White of Green Bay, WI, Dale White and Kerry White, both of Negaunee, Andy Henderson and Troy (Sarah) Henderson, both of Marquette, several aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Walter in 1991, her mother Priscilla in 2006 and her brother Joe White in 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 pm on Wednesday at the Koskey Funeral Home with Monsignor Peter Oberto, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church officiating. The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 pm until the time of services at 5:00 pm at the funeral home on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. Daniel Hardie, U.P. Home Health and Hospice, Pathways, and A.L.S. and give special thanks to the caregivers, both past and present, at the Hillcrest home for their loving and tender care given to Sandy.
