ISHPEMING, MI. - Kathleen Marie Maki, 68, an 8 year resident of the Marquette County Medical Care Facility, died at 5:35 PM on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Bell Memorial Hospital.

Kathleen was born February 22, 1945 in Ishpeming to Albert Rice and Evelyn (Peltier) Zeish, was a graduate of Negaunee High School, Class of 1962, and was a lifelong area resident. She was a homemaker and most loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren. In her younger years she enjoyed the outdoors, camping, an occasional trip to the casino and shopping.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Diane (Troy) Gardner of Sheboygan, WI, Kim (Roger) Oja of Gwinn, Stacy Maki of Ishpeming, 4 sons: Curt Mercure of Sheboygan, WI, Kevin (Robin) Mercure of Negaunee, Greg (Jennifer) Mercure of Neenah, WI, Gary Mercure of Ishpeming, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Carol Jean Spencer, Chris (Dennis) Cox, Peggy (Russ) Bergman, all of Negaunee, a special aunt, Alice (Carlo) Ward of Ishpeming, her former husband Gary (Mary) Mercure, numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father Joseph Zeish, and a step-son, Michael Maki.
