'Back on Track' financial program
MARQUETTE - The next Back on Track, the personal finance education drop-in program, is from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Peter White Public Library's Conference room in Marquette.
These one-on-one sessions are designed to help individuals learn money management skills, setting financial goals, assessing their financial health and how to improve money relationships.
Reserve time with Beth Waitrovich, extension educator with the Michigan State University Extension Service, for a confidential session.
There is no cost and no sales pitch for this service.

Back on Track sessions are available twice a month on Wednesdays from September through May.

Organ concert at First Presbyterian
MARQUETTE - The public is invited to a concert to celebrate its newly renovated and restored Austin pipe organ at 4 p.m., today at the First Presbyterian Church in Marquette.
The organ was designed for the church when it was built in 1934.
Performers include Sandy Balmer, Dawn Betts, Jan Brodersen, Pauline Kiltinen, Nancy Railey and the Marquette City Band Brass Quintet.

Open auditions for 'Scrooge'
NEGAUNEE - The Peninsula Arts Appreciation Council is holding open auditions for the Community Theater Musical "Scrooge" from 7 to 9 p.m., today and Monday at the Vista Theater in Negaunee.
Ages 7 and older can audition. Please be prepared to sing, dance and act.

The disposal is for bagged leaves only and the trucks will not re-run the route.
No trees, tree limbs, or animal waste will be picked up.

Parallel Parenting class at MGH
MARQUETTE - Marquette General Hospital will hold a Parallel Parenting class from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday and Wednesday.
This two-day class is designed for parents who are separated, divorced or never married. The cost is $25.
Parents will learn to parent their child effectively during the time they are with their child.

MARQUETTE - Poetry lovers of all ages are invited to enjoy "Spooky Poetry" from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday in the Community Room of the Peter White Public Library in Marquette.
Read your favorite poems aloud or just come to listen. Poetry books will be provided.

Facing the Future presentation
MARQUETTE - Nicole Foss and Laurence Boomert will speak on "Facing the Future - addressing uncertain times" at 7 p.m. Tuesday in room 103 of Jamrich Hall at Northern Michigan University.
Nicole Foss has been a biologist, environmental consultant, lawyer, research fellow at Oxford Institute of Energy Studies, and is currently editor of The Automatic Earth Website.
Laurence Boomert has a long history in contingency planning, green business development and whole systems thinking.
He is one of New Zealand's foremost proponents of complementary currencies and new trading systems.
