Prep volleyball: Ishpeming falls in five sets at Iron Mountain

IRON MOUNTAIN - The Ishpeming girls volleyball team fell in five sets on Thursday at Iron Mountain, 25-18, 9-25, 23-25, 25-16, 15-12, in Mid-Peninsula Conference play.

Jessica Spencer led the Hematites in kills with 19 while Sinead Korvela finished with eight. Mollie Pruett fueled the IHS attack with 28 assists.

Korvela, Spencer and Tammy Simula each had three aces and Spencer recorded a block.

Korvela led IHS in digs with eight. Simula recorded five and Spencer had four.

"It was definitely a big step up from the matches that we played Tuesday," Ishpeming coach Amy Rautiola said. "We're back to how we should be playing."
