MARQUETTE, MI. - David James Johnson, age 74, of Marquette, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, October 18, 2013.
A son of Clifford and Anna (Landstrom) Johnson, David was born July 14, 1939 in Marquette.
He was a well known drywall finisher and was employed with John Letts Drywall and later owned and operated Johnson Cayer Drywall for several years. He loved the outdoors and his passions included fishing, camping, and music.

He loved to visit and will always be remembered for his smiles and sense of humor. David was a former member of the Marquette Gospel Tabernacle and currently attended Bethel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Dorothy (Wheeler) Johnson; a son, Steven (Pam) Johnson of Burr Oak, MI; two daughters, Christine Johnson of Marquette and Susan (Jeff) Sicotte of Rock; two grandchildren, Christopher (Ami) Sicotte and Andrew Sicotte; along with several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Claire Spitz; and brothers, Donald, Keith, Glenn, and Paul Johnson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Bethel Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 22, from 4:00 pm until the time of service at 6:00 pm. Rev. Dr. Brian Oberg, pastor and Rev. Allan Borrett will officiate. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Burial will be made in the Northland Chapel Gardens.
