Applicants sought to fill vacancy on board of health

MARQUETTE - Applicants are being sought for an unexpired term on the Marquette County Board of Health.

The Marquette County Board is scheduled to make an appointment for the vacancy at its Nov. 5 meeting. The deadline for submitting applications is Nov. 4. The term expires Dec. 31, 2014.

The county board of health governs the operations of the Marquette County Health Department and acts as the board of appeals for all water, sewer and health permit appeals received by the health department.

The panel is a seven-member body, six of whom are appointed to three-year terms. One member must be a doctor of medicine or a doctor of osteopathy and one member must be a county commissioner, serving a one-year term on the panel.

Applications are available at the Marquette County Clerk's Office in the courthouse in Marquette.
