Heartfelt thanks

October 15, 2013
Melissa Skendzel , The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to offer up a big thank you to Rich and Joe, two men in a green Ford truck ... who saw my dog, Oreo crossing the street by the Noque parking lot on Marquette County Road 550.

After a five-cookie bribe, (they) got her into the truck, called me and patiently (I hope) waited for me to return from the walk and to the parking lot.

I may not be able to repay you the cookies (I didn't get your last names) but I will be sure to pay it forward, your wonderful act of kindness.

Just another fine example of why we live in the Upper Peninsula, eh. A heartfelt thanks.
