Marquette commission to discuss priorities

October 15, 2013

MARQUETTE - The Marquette City Commission is scheduled to discuss strategic priorities at its meeting at 7 this evening at city hall.

The commission previously polled members and conducted a series of work sessions to discuss city priorities. It was noted some issues represent mandatory requirements while others focus more on specific projects and activities.

As a result of discussion, most commission members considered infrastructure, economic development and relationships as priority focus areas.

Truck routes, Cliffs Dow and Heartwood Forest are considered priority separate issues.

At today's meeting, the commission will consider adopting the priority list.

The first implementation of the strategic-planning process is scheduled to begin in April 2014.

Christie Bleck can be reached at 906-228-2500, ext. 250.
