‘68 reunion a success

October 14, 2013
Robert S. Mercure, team manager , The Mining Journal

To the Journal editor:

I would like to publicly acknowledge everyone who helped make the reunion of the undefeated football team of 1968 a success.

Thanks to Senior Sports Writer Craig Remsburg and The Mining Journal, Jamie Tuma and Marquette Senior High School, Kathy T. at the American Legion, the anonymous donation of eight pizzas, Bill and Rosemary Michelin for the sub sandwiches, and John Thompson at 94.9, the BAY.

The team deserved the recognition, being an elite group of Marquette football athletes.

Teams in 1915, 1922, 1957, 1968, and 1975 were the only teams to share the title of undefeated.

This team worked for a common goal and achieved it. This teams is an example for young people, and should be a continued pride for the Marquette community.

So, on behalf of Jerry Pangrazzi, Bob Apple, and the whole '68 team, thanks again.

Robert S. Mercure, team manager

Marquette
