MARQUETTE, MI. - Greg Martin MacDougall, age 70, of Marquette, died Monday morning at Norlite Nursing Center surrounded by his loving family.
Greg was born February 20, 1943, in Marquette to Ralph and Florence (Dorow) Mac Dougall and was a lifelong resident.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving from October 19, 1961 to September 29, 1964. He worked for the Bunny Bread/Taystee Bakery for over 20 years.
A wonderful father and grandfather, he loved watching his grandchildren DJ, Cody, and Trevor play hockey, baseball and football, very rarely missing any of their games. He also enjoyed the company of his friends and neighbors at Snowberry Heights, often visiting and doing crossword puzzles in his free time.
He will always be remembered as a very giving and caring man, always willing to help others when in need.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jill (Doug) Bourdeau and Janet (Todd) Koski; former wife, Susan Lemire; grandchildren, Doug (Andrea) Bourdeau, Cody Bourdeau, and Trevor Koski; great-grandchildren, Baylie and Aiden Bourdeau; and a brother, Donald (Meg) Mac Dougall of Pittsburg, PA; and several dearly loved nieces and nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Florence MacDougall; his brothers, Dr. James MacDougall and Peter MacDougall; sister, Sharon Murphy; and two nephews, Steve Mac Dougall and Mike Murphy.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Swanson-Lundquist Funeral Home on Friday, October 11 beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 pm. Rev. Msgr. Michael Steber will officiate.
A reception will follow in the reception area located at the funeral home. Inurnment, with veteran's honors, will be made in the Park Cemetery on Monday at 10:00 am.
