NICE concert features students, show choir

ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP - Chorus students from the NICE Community Schools will team up with The Young Americans show choir to hold a concert at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Westwood High School gymnasium.

The concert will feature two acts, the first a stand-alone performance by The Young Americans and the second featuring a combined performance by The Young Americans and NICE vocal students. The songs selected will touch on a variety of genres, from Broadway tunes to pop music.

Generally considered to be the first show choir, The Young Americans is a charitable organization dedicated to the promotion of understanding and goodwill among people throughout the world through music, dance, performance, academic education and cultural interaction, according to the group's mission statement.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and will be sold at the door. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
