Who was the biggest influence on your hockey career and why?

"Probably my dad. He was always out there on the outdoor rink. He made a rink for us to play on outside at our farm in Alberta. He was probably the biggest influence. Him and my whole family came around it."

If you weren't a hockey player, what would you be and why?

"A farmer probably, just because I live on a farm. We're grain farmers and I do that in the summer anyways."

In head coach Walt Kyle's words:

"He played junior hockey with Justin Rose. A couple years ago, he was the Alberta league defenseman of the year. Last year he got traded into British Colombia. He played on a good team there. He's undersized, just like (sophomore Barrett) Kaib. He's a really good puck mover, good head for the game. He's a smart, intelligent guy that in my opinion is getting better every day. We really like him."
