ISHPEMING - The Westwood High School football team scored its first win of the season and put a damper on Gwinn's postseason chances with a 32-6 Mid-Peninsula Conference victory over the Modeltowners on Homecoming.
Patriots junior running back Marquise Baggiore ran for three touchdowns - all in the fourth quarter - and finished with 207 yards on 17 carries. He scored from 54, 18 and 67 yards out.
Gwinn senior captain Owen DeVooght, who finished with 91 yards on 33 carries, scored the only points for the Modeltowners in the second quarter to put WHS down 6-0.
A 58-yard run by WHS senior Derek Wing gave the Patriots the lead at halftime with sophomore Brandon Benda capping Westwood's run of 32 unanswered points with a 12-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
The Modeltowners (1-3 in M-PC, 2-4 overall) must win their final three games to be under consideration for the MHSAA playoffs while the Patriots (1-2, 1-5) are already eliminated from contention.
Gwinn closes the regular season at home against Stephenson and on the road at Norway and Ishpeming.

Crandon, Wis. 0
CRANDON, Wis. - Senior running back Noah Olgren scored two third-quarter TDs to break open a game that was scoreless after one quarter.
"We struggled a little bit in the first quarter," said Hematites coach Jeff Olson, whose team improved to 6-0. "(Crandon) took the opening kickoff and kept the ball for 10 minutes.
"We made some mental mistakes, but after halftime, our defense started clicking."
Bobby Zhulkie ran in from four yards out to break the scoreless deadlock with 11:25 to go in the second quarter before fellow senior Tyrus Millimaki caught a nine-yard TD pass from senior quarterback Alex Briones less than four minutes later to make it 16-0 at halftime.
Briones added a 25-yard TD run before Olgren, scoring what Olson believed were his first two varsity TDs, ran in from three and 33 yards out to make it 38-0 with 1:49 left in the third.
On the ensuing kickoff, Crandon missed fielding the ball in its own end zone and Ishpeming junior Cody Johnson recovered it for the final TD, which was followed by Briones' rare extra-point kick.
Briones gained 106 yards rushing and Zhulkie 105 as the Hematites rolled up 351 yards on the ground in 41 carries. Briones was 4 of 7 for 53 yards through the air as Ishpeming held a 404-66 advantage in total yards and 19-5 edge in first downs.
ONTONAGON - Garrett Blank ran for 129 yards on 16 carries, plus scored five touchdowns on the ground and another through the air to improve the Mustangs to 3-3 overall.
Blank scored on a 36-yard pass from Austin Kelto in the first quarter, then ran in TDs from 39, 5, 5, 1 and 23 yards out.
North Central 28,
POWERS - Indians freshman quarterback John Paramski completed 6 of 21 passes for 65 yards and two touchdowns, plus intercepted a North Central pass, but Newberry still fell to 2-4 on the season.
Paramski's TD passes went 6 yards to senior tight end Darik Marsh in the second quarter and 3 yards to senior wide receiver Matthew Marsh in the fourth quarter.
